Lean Six Sigma for Higher Education
Lean Six Sigma, combining the emphasis of Lean Analysis on speed and efficiency with that of Six Sigma on error reduction, can be applied in higher education in a variety of ways. Following the Board of Regents initiative, Gordon State College is introducing a Lean Six Sigma paradigm to its planning process, implementing a language for change to be understood not only across the campus, but across the different institutions of the University System of Georgia as well. Gordon State College aims to adopt Lean Six Sigma on a scale appropriate to our size and sector, emphasizing quality, transparency, and real usefulness. Gordon will serve as a model for Six Sigma implementation among colleges of our size and mission.
